From the midnight of Wednesday (14) operations at Viracopos International Airport in Campinas, were owned by private companies. The airport is the first large to be operated by another company after the concession auction held in February.
The company which is now responsible for managing the dealership’s Viracopos, Airports Brazil, will be responsible for the airport for 30 years. The group consists of three companies: Triunfo Participações e Investimentos, Participações UTC and France’s Egis Airport Operation, and plans to invest $ 9.5 billion over the past three decades.
The company assumes control of the airport still together with Infraero. Only from February 2013 that the private sector will take over management entirely, without the backing of the state, if the deadline is not extended.
The concessionaire will lead all functional activities of the airport, such as human resource management and employee training, safety programs and surveillance programs, operation and maintenance of the airport site, program administration and finance, commercial operations, and is responsible for interaction and communication with others involved in daily from the airport, as passengers, tenants and government officials.
