Viracopos Airport inaugurates kennel for sniffer dogs

It was inaugurated on Tuesday (08) at the International Airport of Viracopos a kennel for the three sniffer dogs to help in monitoring of the airport.

The dogs, two German Shepherd breed and a Labrador, were trained to identify and notify the police in case of drug trafficking. According to information from the concessionaire responsible for the airport, another dog will arrive still in 2013 to assist in the search for bombs.

The kennel has a total area of ​​270 m² and has a direct link with the living room of the Federal Police at the airport. Also according to the administrator of the site, the creation of this new space allows surveillance in the passenger terminal and cargo sector may be even more agile.

In 2012, the Federal Police intensified their actions in the terminal to curb the theft of luggage, and in 2013 should also be built a new facility for the Military Police at the airport.
