Flights are diverted to Viracopos airport because of rain

Six flights were alternated to Viracopos International Airport (Campinas – SP), after the closure of Congonhas Airport in the capital.

According to Infraero, the Terminal of the South Zone of São Paulo was closed to takeoffs and landings in the morning from 7:23 a.m. to 7:28 a.m. due to heavy rain that hit the area.

Three flights were of the company Gol, who left Curitiba (PR), Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte (MG) and other three were from TAM, with output of Porto Alegre (RS), Brasilia (DF) and Rio de Janeiro (SP ), respectively, also reportedly from Infraero.

Four other flights were also being diverted from Congonhas to Viracopos on Sunday (11), after a small private plane skidded off the runway of Congonhas.

In particular airline, three people were aboard, and two slightly wounded. The other person had no injuries.
