Daily flights at Campinas Airport increases 287%

According to data from Daesp and Infraero, there was a 287% increase in average daily flights in Campinas, between 2006 and 2012.

Among the reasons for this increase is the growth in the number of routes departing and arriving in Campinas and also the trend of an increasing demand for flights departing executives of Campos dos Amarais Airport. In 2006, the average was 110 landings per day, while this year that number reaches 426.

The concessionaire who will assume administration at Viracopos Airport predicts that by 2018 the annual number of passengers who disembark at the airport is 22 million people, may be the largest airport in Latin America in passenger flow after the expansion, reaching an average 80 million annually.

The construction of the new terminal must end in 2014 and construction of the second track depends on the deviation of a railway line on the place. The main reason for the increase in passenger numbers at the airport is the installation of Azul Linhas Aéreas, which is responsible for 85% of terminal operations.sponsável por 85% das operações do terminal.
